Renowned couture fashion designer Carven Ong was named one of Asian’s Top Fashion Designer of the Year in 2009 by Fashion Asia. His dedication in designing breath-taking wedding and evening gowns has earned him a spot among the list of celebrated wedding-gown specialists in Malaysia. Ever since Carven made his runway debut at the MODA Wanita Fashion Show in 1991, he has accrued a vast amount of experience designing for brides-to-be. He established his bridal boutique in 2004, which he aptly named it Carven Ong Couture and Wedding Specialist. Each lady or bride-to-be who visits Carven’s bridal boutique receives a highly personalized service from the very first consultation. Specialising in customisation of elegant and contemporary bridal designs, Carven believes that “wedding day is the most beautiful day in one’s life”. Carven favours using chiffon with elaborate gathers and hand sewn beadings for his evening gown creations; his signature style in his bridal gowns can be found in using duchess satin which features sweet pleats and unique lace designs. Carven is a member of the Malaysian Official Designers’ Association (MODA), and is also actively involved in high profiled activities within the fashion industry suah as the Malaysian International Fashion Week (M-IFW) organized by the Malaysian International Fashion Alliance (M-IFA) yearly, and the annual STYLO Fashion Grand Prix. Carven Ong has also worked with numerous luxurious beauty brands such as Lancôme and Estee Lauder, and has also participated in various fashion design contests as a Guest Judge and bridal workshops lending his professional expertise to brides-to-be in sewing their dream bridal gowns. Other than devoting his passion to his bridal boutique, Caerven is also the principle for Carven Academy of Fashion, and has been imparting his designing skills to young talents since 1991. He is also the director for two retail labels, namely Carven which markets office apparels and casual wears; and Carven.Sense which markets cocktail dresses.
